D-Limonene is a chiral intermediate for natural product synthesis. It is used as a renewably based solvent in cleaning products.
D-Limonene is a monoterpene found to prevent mammary cancer by inducing hepatic glutathione-S- transferase and uridine diphosphoglucuronosyl transferase. D-Limonene is an isoprenylation inhibitor of small G-proteins.
Limonene is a cyclie terpene from Chinese medicinal herb essential oils used in the synthesis of carvone. Limonene may be used as a shrinking agent to dissolve polystyrene. Limonene may be used in various insecticidal and insect repellant applications.
Miscible with alcohol, with most fixed oils, mineral oil; very slightly soluble in glycerin; practically insoluble in water and in propyiene glycol.
