Descripción: FERM domains are roughly 150 amino acids in length and are found in a number of cytoskeletal-associated proteins such as Ezrin, Radixin, Moesin and 4.1 (erythrocyte membrane protein band 4.1), where they provide a link between cytoskeletal signals and membrane dynamics. FRMD8 (FERM domain-containing protein 8), also known as FKSG44, is a 464 amino acid protein containing one FERM domain. Existing as two alternatively spliced isoforms, the gene encoding FRMD8 maps to human chromosome 11q13.1. With approximately 135 million base pairs and 1,400 genes, chromosome 11 makes up around 4% of human genomic DNA and is considered a gene and disease association dense chromosome. Wilms' tumors, WAGR syndrome and Denys-Drash syndrome are associated with mutations of the WT1 gene. Jervell and Lange-Nielsen syndrome, Jacobsen syndrome, Niemann-Pick disease, hereditary angioedema and Smith-Lemli-Opitz syndrome are also associated with defects in chromosome 11.

Descripción: KNDC1 is a 1749 amino acid protein that contains two KIND domains and an N-terminal Ras-GEF domain. Expressed in the cerebral cortex, KNDC1 is a likely guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF). Existing as six alternatively spliced isoforms, the gene encoding KNDC1 maps to human chromosome 10q26.3 and mouse chromosome 7 F4. Spanning nearly 135 million base pairs, chromosome 10 makes up approximately 4,5% of total DNA in cells and encodes nearly 1200 genes. Several protein-coding genes, including those that encode for chemokines, cadherins, excision repair proteins, early growth response factors (Egrs) and fibroblast growth receptors (FGFRs), are located on chromosome 10. Defects in some of the genes that map to chromosome 10 are associated with Charcot-Marie Tooth disease, Jackson-Weiss syndrome, Usher syndrome, nonsyndromatic deafness, Wolman's syndrome, Cowden syndrome, multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2 and porphyria.

Descripción: MPPED2 (Metallophosphoesterase domain-containing protein 2), also known as C11orf8, FAM1B or 239FB, is a 294 amino acid protein. Expressed primarily in fetal brain tissue, MPPED2 is encoded by a gene that maps to chromosome 11. With approximately 135 million base pairs and 1,400 genes, chromosome 11 makes up around 4% of human genomic DNA and is considered a gene and disease association dense chromosome. The chromosome 11 encoded Atm gene is important for regulation of cell cycle arrest and apoptosis following double stranded DNA breaks. Atm mutation leads to the disorder known as ataxia-telangiectasia. The blood disorders Sickle cell anemia and thalassemia are caused by HBB gene mutations, while Wilms' tumors, WAGR syndrome and Denys-Drash syndrome are associated with mutations of the WT1 gene. Jervell and Lange-Nielsen syndrome, Jacobsen syndrome, Niemann-Pick disease, hereditary angioedema and Smith-Lemli-Opitz syndrome are also associated with defects in chromosome 11.

Descripción: C10orf27, also known as spatial, is a 351 amino acid cytoplasmic protein belonging to the spatial family. C10orf27 is suggested to play a role in spermatid differentiation. Existing as two alternatively spliced isoforms, C10orf27 is widely expressed in multiple tissues, including brain, thymus and testis. C10orf27 may be associated with multiple sclerosis (MS) susceptibility and pathogenesis. MS is an inflammatory disease that causes gradual destruction of myelin in the central nervous system. C10orf27 is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 10, which contains over 800 genes and 135 million nucleotides, making up nearly 4.5% of the human genome. PTEN is an important tumor suppressor gene located on chromosome 10 and, when defective, causes a genetic predisposition to cancer development known as Cowden syndrome.

Descripción: FAM13C1, also known as FAM13C, is a 585 amino acid protein that belongs to the FAM13 family. Existing as three alternatively spliced isoforms, the gene encoding FAM13C1 maps to human chromosome 10, which contains over 800 genes, 135 million nucleotides and makes up nearly 4.5% of the human genome. PTEN is an important tumor suppressor gene located on chromosome 10 and, when defective, causes a genetic predisposition to cancer development known as Cowden syndrome. The chromosome 10 encoded gene ERCC6 is important for DNA repair and is linked to Cockayne syndrome which is characterized by extreme photosensitivity and premature aging. Tetrahydrobiopterin deficiency and a number of syndromes involving defective skull and facial bone fusion are also linked to chromosome 10. As with most trisomies, trisomy 10 is rare and is deleterious.

Descripción: FOXRED1 is a 486 amino acid single-pass membrane protein. Utilizing FAD as a cofactor, FOXRED1 may act as a chaperone protein essential for the function of mitochondrial complex I. Mutations to FOXRED1 may result in mitochondrial complex I deficiency (MT-C1D), which results in a wide range of clinical maladies from lethal neonatal disease to adult onset neurodegenerative disorders. Common phenotypes of MT-C1D include cardiomyopathy, liver disease, Leigh syndrome, Leber hereditary optic neuropathy, and some forms of Parkinson disease. FOXRED1 exists as three alternatively spliced isoforms and is encoded by a gene mapping to human chromosome 11q24.2. With approximately 135 million base pairs and 1,400 genes, chromosome 11 makes up around 4% of human genomic DNA and is considered a gene and disease association dense chromosome.

Descripción: C9orf135 (chromosome 9 open reading frame 135) is a 229 amino acid single-pass membrane protein encoded by a gene that maps to human chromosome 9q21.11. Chromosome 9 consists of about 145 million bases, represents 4% of the human genome and encodes nearly 900 genes. Thought to play a role in gender determination, deletion of the distal portion of 9p can lead to development of male to female sex reversal, the phenotype of a female with a male X,Y genotype. Hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia, which is characterised by harmful vascular defects, is associated with the chromosome 9 gene encoding endoglin protein, ENG. Familial dysautonomia is also associated with chromosome 9 though through the gene IKBKAP. Notably, chromosome 9 encompasses the largest interferon family gene cluster. Chromosome 9 is partnered with chromosome 22 in the translocation leading to the aberrant production of BCR-ABL fusion protein often found in leukemias.

Descripción: This antibody recognizes a cell surface glycoprotein of 95/115/135 kDa (depending upon the extent of glycosylation), identified as CD43 [Workshop IV]. Epitope of MAb Bra7G is clearly different from that of MAb DF-T1, called b as opposed to a for DF-T1. 70-90% of T-cell lymphomas and from 22-37% of B-cell lymphomas express CD43. No reactivity has been observed with reactive B-cells. So a B-lineage population that co-expresses CD43 is highly likely to be a malignant lymphoma, especially a low-grade lymphoma, rather than a reactive B-cell population. When CD43 antibody is used in combination with anti-CD20, effective immunophenotyping of the lymphomas in formalin-fixed tissues can be obtained. Co-staining of a lymphoid infiltrate with anti-CD20 and anti-CD43 argues against a reactive process and favors a diagnosis of lymphoma.
