Descripción: GPR15 is a probable chemokine receptor, its expression has been reported in CD4(+) T lymphocytes, alveolar macrophages, and the basal surface of the small intestinal epithelium. ESTs have been isolated from normal brain and kidney cancer libraries. This gene encodes a G protein-coupled receptor that acts as a chemokine receptor for human immunodeficiency virus type 1 and 2. The encoded protein localizes to the cell membrane. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2012].

Descripción: CCR7 is a member of the G protein coupled receptor family (subfamily : chemokine). This receptor was identified as a gene induced by the Epstein Barr virus (EBV), and is thought to be a mediator of EBV effects on B lymphocytes. CCR7 has been reported to be expressed in blood, bone marrow, lymph node, and intestine. It is particularly expressed in lymphoid tissues and in activated B and T lymphocytes and has been shown to control the migration of memory T cells to inflamed tissues, as well as stimulate dendritic cell maturation. The chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 19 (CCL19/ECL) has been reported to be a specific ligand of this receptor. ESTs have been isolated from blood, embryo, lymph node, and thymus libraries.

Descripción: ZBED5 contains 1 BED type zinc finger and it may be derived from an ancient transposon that has lost its ability to translocate. This gene is unusual in that its coding sequence is mostly derived from Charlie like DNA transposon. There is mRNA and EST evidence to suggest that this gene is transcribed. The encoded protein shares 70% identity with Charlie 1 transposase, however, this gene does not appear to be an active DNA transposon as it is not flanked by terminal inverted repeats. The exact function of this gene product is not known.

Descripción: This orphan B G-protein coupled receptor could be involved in a signal transduction pathway controlling epidymal function and male fertility: it has been reported in the epididymis. ESTs have been isolated from embryo, kidney, placenta, skeletal muscle and testis libraries.

Descripción: Bombesin Receptor 3 expression has been reported in lung (normal and cancer), nasal mucosa, placenta, and uterus. ESTs have been isolated from normal brain and kidney cancer libraries. It has a role in sperm cell division, maturation, or function. This receptor mediates its action by association with G proteins that activate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system.

Descripción: TNIK is a MSN protein kinase that interacts with both TNF receptor-associated factor 2 (TRAF2) and the adapter protein NCK. The protein has been shown to activate the c-Jun N-terminal kinase pathway when over expressed in Phoenix-A cells. TNIK has been shown to phosphorylate gelsolin, the principal intracellular and extracellular actin-severing protein, in vitro. This and evidence from mutational studies suggest that TNIK functions in the regulation of the cytoskeleton. Northern analysis indicates TNIK expression in human heart, skeletal muscle, and brain, with lower levels of expression in kidney, liver, lung, and pancreas. ESTs have been isolated from human tissue libraries, including normal amnion, gallbladder and skin.
