Descripción: Plays a role as negative regulator of myoblast differentiation, in part through effects on MTOR signaling. Has no detectable enzymatic activity.PPAPDC3, also known as nuclear envelope transmembrane protein 39 (NET39), was initially discovered in an in silico screen for secreted or membrane proteins. It is a member of the PAP2 superfamily of phosphatases and haloperoxidases. PPAPDC3 has recently been shown to act as a negative regulator of myoblast differentiation by diminishing the activity of the mammalian target of rapamycin TOR. PPAPDC3 is highly expressed in cardiac and skeletal muscle and becomes strongly upregulated during cultured myoblast differentiation tissues. Overexpression of PPAPDC3 in myoblasts repressed myogenesis while knockdown by RNA interference promoted differentiation indicating its part in the regulatory mechanism for myogenesis.

Descripción: CDCA3 (Cell division cycle associated 3) is an F-box-like protein which is required for entry into mitosis. It is associated with SKP1 as part of a SCF (SKP1-cullin-F-box) protein ligase complex, and is required for the ubiquitination and degradation of the CDK1 inhibitory tyrosine kinase WEE1 at G2/M phase.

Descripción: This clone was constructed and sequenced as part of a high-throughput process to generate expression-ready clones from the Drosophila Gene Collection for use as a proteomics resource. The clone has been full-length sequenced to verify fidelity in translation, proper reading frame and presence of a recombination site.

Descripción: Part of the host defense system of polymorphonuclear leukocytes. It is responsible for microbicidal activity against a wide range of organisms. In the stimulated PMN, MPO catalyzes the production of hypohalous acids, primarily hypochlorous acid in physiologic situations, and other toxic intermediates that greatly enhance PMN microbicidal activity.

Descripción: Cytochrome P450 4A22 (CYP4A22) is a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyse many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. This gene is part of a cluster of cytochrome P450 genes on chromosome 1p33.

Descripción: Isoform 1: Acts as a transcriptional repressor. Inhibits erythroid differentiation and tumor cell proliferation. Plays a role during ovarian cancer development and progression. Isoform 2: Contributes to cervical carcinogenesis in part through the TNF-alpha-induced NF-kappa-B signaling pathway by interacting with the I-kappa-B-kinase (IKK) core complex.

Descripción: Cell cycle progression is controlled in part by a family of cyclin proteins and cyclin dependent kinases (Cdks). Cdk proteins work in concert with cyclins to phosphorylate key substrates involved in cell cycle progression. Another family of proteins, Cdk inhibitors, also play a role in regulating the cell cycle by binding to cyclin-Cdk complexes and modulating their activity. Members of the Cdk family include Cdk2Cdk8, PCTAIRE-13, PITALRE and PITSLRE. PCTAIRE-1, PCTAIRE-2 and PCTAIRE-3 comprise a subfamily of cdc2-related serine/threonine kinases. PCTAIRE-1, which is expressed primarily in mammalian brain, interacts with a variety of proteins and is thought to be part of a multiple signal transduction cascade. PCTAIRE-2, also expressed in brain, may be important in terminally differentiated neurons.

Descripción: Cysteine protease required for autophagy, which cleaves the C-terminal part of either MAP1LC3, GABARAPL2 or GABARAP, allowing the liberation of form I. A subpopulation of form I is subsequently converted to a smaller form (form II). Form II, with a revealed C-terminal glycine, is considered to be the phosphatidylethanolamine (PE)-conjugated form, and has the capacity for the binding to autophagosomes.
