Descripción: iASPP (inhibitor of apoptosis stimulating protein of p53, RelA-associated inhibitor (RAI), NFKap B-interacting protein 1, protein phosphatase 1 regulatory subunit 13-like, PPP1R13L) is the third member of the ASPP family of proteins. Unlike ASPP1 and ASPP2, which interact with p53 and enhance its ability to induce apoptosis, iASPP inhibits apoptosis induced by p53 overexpression. iASPP has been identified in a yeast-two hybrid screen as an interacting protein of the p65 subunit of NFKap B (RelA),3 interacts with NFKap B in vivo, and acts as an efficient inhibitor of HIV-1 gene expression in which both NFKap b and Sp1 play major roles. iASPP expression is upregulated in human breast carcinomas expressing wild-type p53, and gene overexpression may play an important role in the leukemogenesis and/or progression of acute leukemia. Descripción: Centrosomes are dynamic organelles involved in many aspects of cell function and growth. Centrosomes act as microtubule organizing centers, and provide a site for concerted regulation of cell cycle progression. Duplication of centrosomes occurs once during each cell cycle and requires proper mitotic spindle formation and chromosome segregation. Defects in centrosome duplication or function are linked to many human diseases, including various forms of cancer. The centrosome and spindle pole-associated protein 1 (CSPP1) interacts with centrosomes and microtubules and may play a role in the regulation of G(1)/S-phase progression and spindle assembly. Two isoforms of CSPP1 exist as a result of alternative splicing events. Isoform 1 expression increases throughout the cell cycle and peaks in G2/M phase, whereas isoform 2 expression is highest in G1 phase and decreases thereafter.

Descripción: FUSIP1 is a member of the Serine/Arginine (SR) family of splicing factors. Members of the SR family all contain one or more RNA recognition motifs (RRM) and an SR-rich domain. SR factors are not only essential for constitutive splicing but also regulate splicing in a concentration-dependent manner by influencing the selection of alternative splice sites. Expressed in a variety of tissues with low expression in kidney, liver and heart, FUSIP1 localizes to the cytoplasm and nuclear speckles. In its dephosphorylated form (occurring during M phase of the cell cycle), FUSIP1 functions as a potent general repressor of pre-mRNA splicing and can interact with U1 SnRNP 70. In its phosphorylated form, FUSIP1 interacts with Tra-2 and, together, they may cooperate in the regulation of splicing. Four isoforms exist for FUSIP1. In neurons, FUSIP1 isoforms may act to either positively or negatively regulate alternative splicing.
