Descripción: P62, also known as Sequestosome I, is a 62kDa, 440 amino acid protein, initially identified as a ligand of the SH2 domain of p56lck, now known to be expressed in many tissues. In addition to TRAF6, PEST and zinc finger motifs, p62 has a C-terminal ubiquitin binding association (UBA) domain with an affinity for multi-ubiquitin chains, and it is considered to serve as a scaffold protein, capable of binding to multiple signalling molecules and uniting receptor-mediated signalling events with ubiquitinylation. Elevated levels of p62 have been reported in breast tumours and in alcoholic liver disease where p62 has been shown to be involved in the formation of Mallory bodies. Several mutations in the p62 UBA domain have been identified and the etiology of Paget’s disease of bone has been linked to one such mutation. Kuusisto and colleagues have demonstrated that p62 is also present in elevated levels in the hallmark inclusions found in various neurodegenerative conditions, including tauopathies (Alzheimer’s disease, Picks disease, and frontotemporal dementia) and synucleinopathies (Parkinson’s disease, dementia with Lewy body disease and multiple system atrophy). In recent years ubiquitin immunostaining has been used to provide adjunct information for neuropathological diagnosis, but it is becoming evident that p62 may be an even more reliable marker of neurodegenerative disease inclusion detection than tau, alpha-synuclein or ubiquitin immunostaining.

Descripción: RBP1 is the carrier protein involved in the transport of retinol (vitamin A alcohol) from the liver storage site to peripheral tissue. Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin necessary for growth, reproduction, differentiation of epithelial tissues, and vision.RBP1 is the carrier protein involved in the transport of retinol (vitamin A alcohol) from the liver storage site to peripheral tissue. Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin necessary for growth, reproduction, differentiation of epithelial tissues, and vision. The gene harbors four exons encoding 24, 59, 33, and 16 amino acid residues respectively. The second intervening sequence alone occupies 19 kb of the 21 kb of the gene.

Descripción: Below 35 to 40 °C gelatin swells and absorbs approximately 5 to 10 times its weight of water to form a gel. Gelatin is soluble in glycerol and acetic acid, and more soluble in hot than in cold water. It is practically insoluble in most organic solvents such as alcohol, chloroform, carbon disulphide, carbon tetrachloride, ether, benzene, acetone and oils. Sterile solutions of gelatin stored cold are stable indefinitely, but at elevated temperatures hydrolysis or rupture of peptide bonds occurs, increasing the number of free amino groups. Gel strength and viscosity gradually weaken upon prolonged heating in solution above ~40 °C; this degradation is accelerated by extremes in pH, proteolytic enzymes and bacterial action.

Descripción: Although Lissamine Rhodamine B chloride is one of the most popular labeling reagents of sulfonyl chloride, it is quite unstable in water. Even in anhydrous DMF, Lissamine Rhodamine B chloride tends to give a very complicated reaction mixture. It reacts with thiols, alcohols, phenols, aliphatic amines and aromatic amines indiscriminatingly. LRB Red™ is a succinimidyl ester and has the spectral properties identical to those of Lissamine Rhodamine B chloride. LRB Red™ is a superior replacement for Lissamine Rhodamine B chloride. LRB Red™ only reacts with aliphatic amines such as amino acids, peptides and proteins to give bright red fluorescent conjugates that are extremely stable. Compared to Lissamine Rhodamine B chloride, LRB Red™ has much higher labeling efficiency, and more importantly the resulted conjugates are much easier to be purified due to its much cleaner reactions. We strongly recommend that you consider using LRB Red™ to replace Lissamine Rhodamine B chloride for labeling peptides and oligonucleotides.
